It’s Mama
G is for Gatekeeper.
Madison,
When you hit thirty, you told me that you had decided to live singly and focus on several things, the most important of which is your faith. You told me, “Mama, I am going to work on myself, not from the position of selfishness, but rather, from the position of love of self as God’s handiwork”.
I loved that
You had decided to stop trying to protect your heart, your thoughts, your feelings and let Go and let God be the GATEKEEPER of your heart….
And, that decision has made all of the difference in your life
We see it…
Ladder, your brothers and sister and I see it
And, it makes us smile…..
It brings joy to everyone who knows you to watch you move from a young woman who has struggled significantly (and, sometimes very publicly) to finally be able to find peace and the quiet spirit that comes from placing your full faith and trust in God.
You are living the Exodus 14:14 life in so many ways, and although you still are somewhat public about that transition, we can see a lot of growth and quiet emanating from you
If you will rest in me, I will fight the battle
And, it is lovely
And, you are lovely
It seemed to me that you previously that you feared if you “let go” and “let God” take care of the sorrowful things in your life that they would not be validated, but I think you are learning that is not true.
It is WHEN you give over the sad things in your life totally and finally to God that you really start the process of healing and not just healing but moving past that into a journey of wellness that can only come from a God who loves you implicitly.
I’ve been studying the concept of Gatekeeping and this is what I have learned…
In the world, Gatekeeping is seen as a negative goal of refraining from giving information or access to others information considered sacred by the Gatekeeper which I believe, just goes to show the difference between worldly thought and spiritual truths.
In the Holy Bible, Gatekeepers were…
Gatekeepers were guards stationed for protection at various kinds of gates, which could be city gates, palace gates, or temple gates.
Or, in God’s perspective, “protecting the hearts and spirits of his own”
With God as our Gatekeeper you can live in peace that in both good times and bad, you are right where you need to be at all times in all ways and from that knowledge, you will find a peace and joy and light that is unfathomable.
So, precious daughter, this journey you are on where you chose to stand behind the Gate of our Father God whom you trust with your everything is one which is everything….
He is our Good Shepard
I Am the Good Shepherd
10 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber. 2 But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. 5 A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” 6 This figure of speech Jesus used with them, but they did not understand what he was saying to them.
7 So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9 I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he wil
l be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. 11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12 He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. 13 He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So, there will be one flock, one shepherd. 17 For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again. 18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father.”
And, just as He is the Good Shepard, YOU are his lamb….
So, as you walk through this season in your life, go in confidence and with joy that you are well cared for, well loved, and well protected.
I love you as only your Mama can,
Mama
